Privacy Policy

1. Data controller and contact
Data processed in connection with ViatoRide is managed by the operator of the ViatoRide project. Privacy and personal-data contact: motof.official@gmail.com.
2. Data we may process
Depending on the features you use, ViatoRide may process account and profile data, email address, nickname, optional profile details, motorcycle information, device location, SOS and road-hazard reports, chat and message content, user-uploaded photos, technical device information, and bug reports or suggestions.
3. Location
Maps, navigation, road alerts, online visibility, ViatoRide SOS and safety features may require location access, including background access when the user grants the relevant permission. Location is used only to the extent required by an active feature.
4. Purposes of processing
Data is processed to provide ViatoRide features and account services, perform user-requested actions, support communication and safety features, handle reports, protect the service against abuse, and improve or diagnose the app.
5. Technology providers
ViatoRide uses Google Firebase services including authentication, Realtime Database, Storage and Hosting. Mapping, geocoding or routing features may use external map providers. Data is shared with technology providers only as necessary to provide the relevant service.
Google Firebase also provides Cloud Functions. Google Cloud Firestore is used only for the app launch analytics described below. Google Cloud provides infrastructure and processes these data on behalf of the controller.
6. No sale of personal data
ViatoRide does not sell users' personal data and does not share it with third parties for those parties' own marketing.
7. Information visible to other users
Some information may be visible to other users when required by a ViatoRide feature, such as nickname and selected profile details, location shared through an active feature, road-hazard reports, SOS reports, group content or messages addressed to other users.
8. App launch analytics
When you use the app while signed in, ViatoRide records the start of a session. In the current version, this collection is required for signed-in sessions and has no separate analytics switch. The app does not request a separate telemetry consent. Returning after at least 30 minutes in the background or using another account may start a new session. Moving between screens does not create additional sessions.
We use this information to understand how many users are active, how often the app is opened, how many users return, and how ViatoRide is used, and to guide its further development.
A report contains your Firebase account identifier (UID), a random unique session identifier, and the app version name and code (versionName and versionCode). The server records the time it accepts the report as the observed session time, together with first and last observations, session counts, return information and daily aggregates. We do not reconstruct activity from before telemetry was introduced.
This telemetry does not contain GPS coordinates, route history, email addresses, phone numbers, message contents, visited-screen history or session duration. It is not used for marketing or personalised advertising and is not provided to other parties for their independent purposes.
Telemetry is stored in the separate Google Cloud Firestore database viatoride-usage, in region europe-west1. Cloud Functions mediate writes and reads. Direct access to this database by Android clients and the public website is blocked; individual data are available only to authorised ViatoRide administrators. Data are encrypted in transit.
9. Telemetry retention
Detailed session history is available for a maximum of 30 days. Expired records are deleted automatically and asynchronously in batches and by Firestore retention. Physical deletion may finish later, especially during a service outage; older entries are not exposed through session history.
Combined daily statistics support charts covering up to 84 days; older aggregates are removed during automatic cleanup. The account-linked summary, including lifetime session counts, return information, first and last observations, and auxiliary daily counters, may remain until account deletion. This is not detailed history of individual sessions.
Deleting an account initiates deletion of its session history and summary and correction of the relevant aggregates. A technical deletion marker prevents late reports from being counted again. It contains no profile data or session history and is scheduled for automatic deletion after 31 days. Physical cleanup is asynchronous and may finish later.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account in the ViatoRide app or follow the instructions on the account deletion page.
11. Your rights
Subject to the conditions and limits in the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or data portability. You may object where processing is based on legitimate interests, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. This does not mean that the app collects consent for every feature described here.
Send requests to motof.official@gmail.com. We may verify your identity to protect your data; do not send your account password. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
12. Security and testing
ViatoRide uses technical measures designed to protect data. The app is actively developed and may be distributed as a test version; features, processed data and technology providers may change as the service evolves.
